I hate to side with Disney, but this was clearly a case of a government retaliating against a company for making a political statement. This is literally what the First Amendment was written to prevent.
I 100% agree and think DeSantis is in the wrong here - but I think it's worth pointing out that if we hadn't spent the last century having government entities heavily propping up giant companies so they can get an edge over all their competitors, then this sort of retaliation wouldn't really be possible.
I'd be totally fine with Disney losing all it's special priveledges, about time actually - but not because they happened to piss off one whiney politician
It would also mean that the #GOP has destroyed Contract Law.

They’re not wrong.
Most people that know anything about Disney laughed when this thing started because they knew what was coming. Yet DeSantis kept digging that hole.
And then Disney started marketing planned developments conveniently long enough so people weren’t watching the Ron and Disney show!
