Personally I think newsmedia should be one sector not open to foreign ownership.
- I think that would be pretty hard to regulate with most news being on the internet. But we definitely need Canadians to follow and trust Canadian news sources not foreign news.
All of our news from one source.
- Foreign owned conservative controlled media.
That can't be good. Time to start our own newspaper.
Why should the Competition Bureau allow this?
- They absolutely should not. They might just try to stop it , too. If the courts let them.
Joining a US RW maga conglomerate.
- just wait until Canada puts together a left-of-center media conglomerate (whatever the fuck "center" even is these days) and buys up a Timbit 20-pack of newspapers and talk radio stations in Maine, upstate New York, Michigan and North Dakota.

On a second thought, that could either be good for Postmedia or bad for TorStar, depending on which becomes more like the other.
- I kinda feel like the Star is already indistinguishable from Postmedia.
