A wink (burrowing owl and june bug)

Late morning snack... This little burrowing owl winked at me as if asking: "Want a piece of this bug? Well... you're getting none" :-)

That is a figeater beetle
- I looked them up and it's seems they're commonly mistaken for each other. It could be either since both are found in the area borrow owls are. I don't think I've ever seen either, personally. Both look pretty neat though.
Burrowing owls are the most superb owls. I'm prepared to fight over this.
