Definitely an issue for both forces. It’s winter, this war has dragged on for far too long, and they’re the ones bearing the brunt of this meat grinder. Can’t wait to pop champagne when Putin finally croaks.
The fact any front pine people have died, a single one, is a fucking atrocity. Russia is not the Zionist place; it's people may not he perfect, but they aren't willing to die for this shit.
Every single casualty on both sides of this conflict is a bloody pointless human sacrifice yo the sanctity of the wretched old men who send the young to die like dogs while they lounge in caligulan decadence, the idea that their lives are sacred because they give order, and yours is not, because you follow them.
This whole thing could have been over in a matter of hours; any state level actor could have killed a few dozen oligarchs and their hangers on, and driven Putin into his bunker if not killed him outright. Instead it's dragged on for fucking years.
Also there's no real chance of winning for them.
They certainly won't get back Crimea and chances are low to get some if any of the occupied territory back since the West has no interest in ending the war quickly and Ukraine alone is not strong enough.
If your winning condition is realistically to hold out until something extremely unlikely happens in your favour morale will deteriorate quickly.
Usually I’d counter by saying wars of attrition favor the defender but it seems like no level of shit shoveling will get the Russian populace to cause any sort of domestic upheaval. I hope you’re wrong but the future for Ukraine feels bleak. Russia too, but still.
