Easter is the egg holiday. Deviled eggs, custard, cake, pie, egg salad, etc. Eggs represent fertility and renewal.
Eggs represent my delicious dinner
I like it. I also propose that Halloween always fall on the last Saturday in October.
I second this motion
In some countries the first (and second) of november are holidays for all saints and all soulsday. I prefer that over moving halloween.
No.
I am so conflicted about this.
Ah yes, nothing says romance like lactose flatulence.
Some people are into that.
I'm good with changing Valentine's Day to cheese-based holiday. It seems like the worst candy comes out for that one, like it's all intentionally low quality. Heart-shaped Baby Bell cheeses? Hell yeah. Makes it worth the results later.
But potatoes for Easter? We already have eggs, why are we doubling up on round things without making it "round things holiday"?
I'm split, but willing to negotiate.
It's a fertility festival so round things makes sense.
It should have more phallic and vaginallic foods though, like carrots, zucchini, butternut squash, oysters and tacos.
How about cheese and potatoes get their own damn holidays
We kinda have that already with halloween here. Primary and secondary schools get a week of around 31st oct and 1st nov due to them being holidays (no halloween is not a holiday here it's a different reason) and we call them potaro holidays. I believe it's because people tend to harvest their potatoes around that time.
Don't forget Pancake Day.
Shrove Tuesday?
We call it Pancake Day where I'm from. Because we eat a lot of pancakes.
I prefer Halloween but think Easter has better candy.
I would love to get piping hot crispy crowns while trick-or-treating on Halloween.
Wonderful. But instead of potato, can we do another cheese holiday?
Let's think outside the box... potato AND cheese
I love it. I’ll take your entire stock.
this dude just wakes up every day and says something viral
I like that the most religious holiday is the one with the most bland food
Easter is not a candy holiday, Easter is a chocolate specific holiday (in practice). I do approve of Valentine's being cheese-themed though.
The egg is a fertility symbol. Not sure if a potato is.
Not with that attitude.
Spoken like somebody who has never grown potatoes.
Or lost a potato behind a cabinet ten years ago.
Shouldn't Easter be an egg holiday?
Not everyone likes eggs. And it's not inclusive of vegan.
Not everyone likes chocolate, and for the 7 people worldwide who are both deeply Christian and vegan, you can celebrate the holiday by hatching an egg.
It already is?
According to this guy, it's a chocolate holiday. Idk what the potato is for but I would just make it more about eggs and egg dishes.
