He is trying to create a justification for enacting martial law and increased control over the domestic population. “Venezuelan gangs” are simultaneously the excuse for blowing up civilian boats while also being the excuse for making ICE increasingly militant.
He seemingly wants to recreate the conditions of WWII where the military was used to round up Japanese-American people into concentration camps. Except this time it is to round up Latinos. For now they go after undocumented immigrants. Then start the war. Then round up anybody who is brown by labeling them as gang sympathizers

The US hasn’t technically been at war since WW2 by US definition technicalities, a system that many Americans seem to enjoy stating when talking about the millions of people killed by the US military and allies since in various invasions and occupations

BTW I don't agree with Candace Owens on anything else, but I don't think her claims that Trump may have been involved in Charlie Kirk's assassination (or at least allowed it to happen) are exactly "unhinged," when he's comfortable openly saying this kind of shit to the fucking press. If he can talk openly about just murdering people on a whim, if he can release an official memo that very much implies he plans to do the same for any American citizen who disagrees with him, why would it be "unhinged," to think he's capable of something like that?

It's always seems so weird to me that the night Charlie Kirk was murdered, he called him a "martyr for free speech." Then he started cracking down on free speech and framing it as terrorist activity.

I think if there was some kind of conspiracy to allow it to happen, then everybody in his administration is aware of it. Hours before he was murdered, the Senate finance committee asked Scott Bessant why he wouldn't release the bank records for several banks including JP Morgan, regarding Epstein and people like Peter Thiel.
Then Republicans in both the House and Senate blocked an attempt by Democrats to subpoena those records, but nobody even noticed bc everybody was paying attention to the assassination.
So many wealthy and powerful people were desperately in need of a big distraction that day. Not only did it work to distract, it allowed them a BS reason to claim they had to crack down on the left and any opposition.
Can we please do the right thing here and convict this man of war crimes. Even if he's already dead when allegedly sane people get back in power, they need to sue the shit out of his remaining trusts and kids for corruption, bribery etc.

Declaring war is a boring, formal process that acknowledges authority other than himself, of course he doesn't want to do it. Why do all of that when he already has the thrill of ordering the deaths of random civilians and having the footage streamed live to him while he scarfs down a McDouble?
