You would forcibly gender a being that is inherently asexual? One that would have no choice in the matter?
- it's a device, you own it, you should be able to edit gender.conf however you please
  
  I would argue that in order for a robot to be "gay" it must be capable of forming emotional bonds in fact, and not just play-acting at emotions due to programming, and therefore must be more than a simple "device".

Are those characters from an anime or something?
- Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, or Yokohama Shopping Log. It's a manga about melancholy robots watching us slowly go extinct, but in a sad, touching way. Also they almost all look like cute women and they transfer data by kissing.
