I lost my job to an immigrant. Because he decided that he could destroy the government departments that paid my salary.
- Ditto, and my company was actually increasing government efficiency in a certain area by 900%.
  Now they're out of business because they never diversified into areas other than the federal government.
What about the person whose job it was to consume huge amounts of power? Is their job safe at least?

Thankfully AI will never take my job: reading memes on company time and bitching about my boss.
As someone whose neighboring local gov’t just concluded a back room deal with Google to give them unfettered access to our drinking water for cooling at a new data center for ai slop generation, this blows.
- What happened to Microsoft's idea of having data centres on platforms out in the ocean and just using sea water?
  
  i imagine they're significantly more expensive than staying on land and abusing existing water sources that offer pre-processed water
imagine someone patching a makeshift emp and blasting it in one of these data centers - how much shit will go down
- I mean in fairness that would happen even if the data centre wasn't running anything AI.
