Even with as patently cruel and destructive as they've shown themselves to be recently, it's still sort of astonishing the lengths the Republicans will go to to deny poor people healthcare.

They REALLY don't want to give healthcare subsidies to poor folks, do they?

Damn. A win win for them. Hold out on giving healthcare to those in need and fire government employees in the meantime.
- They were going to fire those govt employees anyway, let's not kid ourselves. They demonstrated that they were capable of gutting critical govt agencies while the govt was still open, they didn't need a shutdown.
