I heard about the announcement yesterday. It's such silly posturing by Smith's government. Yeah, there's no private proponent for this many-billion dollar project, so let's flaunt tens of million dollars of provincial taxpayer money in front of oil companies, to show how upset we are at everyone not letting us put pipelines where we like!
This is at the same time Imperial Oil is disinvesting from their Calgary offices.

  With one side of her mouth she demands that BC allow a pipeline with no conditions, and without he other she says "this country is fundamentally broken and we need to leave".
  It's just more of the usual right wing "fuck you, do what I want" mindset.
Isn't the point of these projects to get diversification from shipping our products only to the US? Sometimes I wonder how much we're getting played by the US by manufacturing opposition to diversification efforts.
