My anti-violence mother let me have all the guns I wanted when I was a kid. Space guns, spy guns, soldier guns, whatever I wanted. By the time I was in 6th Grade I was over guns and never wanted to get a real one.
Just saying...
Yeah same here. There’s something else going on here. It’s not toys and video games. We had GI Joe, every action figure had a gun or rifle. We had fake guns in the toy aisles. They looked real af. That was totally normal.
I hate to say, but the one thing we didn’t have… was the internet 😕
I was the same way. I had all kinds of guns and my sisters boyfriend at the time showed me his real gun and was like: when you're 18, i van help you get one and go shooting and stuff. I was like no thanks and never wrnt back to even think about it.
oh yeah, my parents absolutely would not have firearms in the house. not safe, and they knew the statistics to back it up. also, dad was rated expert in marksmanship in the 1911 and the m16 during his time in the army and he made sure all us kids could out-shoot him. so like, there was a bit of a dichotomy there.
Let a kid try out one of my RC trucks. First thing he did was plow the fucking thing into my leg. Kids are dumb (and now no one is allowed to drive them 😤)
Or a 110° angled stick. Pinecones for grenades.
Or fingers...
maybe children should have their thumb and index fingers removed at birth
Shit! Rick n Morty has an apisode and I just realized that’s probably a criticism in the show. They go to a place where you are in an anti death field, you can’t be killed. There are two kids running around with real blaster and shooting each other. They don’t die; the field is in effect, however, Rick says ‘bad parenting’ lmao.
I just realized this.
Are you forgetting ::: spoiler spoiler They do very much in fact die when the field fails. :::
