Fix transportation and you fix half the housing issues. Build 24/7 regional train links to Barrie and Peterborough and Guelph, and build streetcars networks within them, and suddenly they are closer to downtown then Scarborough or Mississauga.
Have the government do more to build their own non-market housing, create programs to make it easier to build co-op and community housing, and penalize housing market 'investors' who add no value to the economy, and you'll fix the other half.
The BC NDPs seem to be doing something right- now if only the ONDP can take notes and prepare a similar platform for the next election
The ontario ndp has bigger issues than just their platform, they need to make their candidates known and inform people of the benefits of their platform. They often have pretty good platforms, but I'd be surprised if more than 10% of voters even read any party's platform. Most just pick the loudest voice they agree with on a handful of topics.
