I assume this term is more popular in regions that do not experience snow so their material is muddy fields and the chunks that are kicked up are turd shaped. I expected it to be a higher percentage.
- Looks like mostly the greater Minnesota area, with blips in St. Louis, Worcester, Wyoming and Phoenix, so not really snowless and wet normally. Though they might all (except for Phoenix- maybe those are snowbirds?) have a lot of snowmelt in the spring that makes kicking up chunks more likely.
Being from one of the green areas, I've definitely heard it before, but rarely as the primary way of saying it. When I hear it, it's usually added for comedic effect along the lines of "I was doing donuts yesterday. Ya know, just whipping shitties."
Now you might only be able to get a couple rotations until the ice has had at least one night at twenty below. That'll set it up real nice. After that you should be able to properly whip a shitty worth telling your kids about some day.
Is it even worth trying before that point in the season? You betcha!

Because I had such a heavy course load in college, I would offer to designated drive for my friends in college on Friday nights. During the winter, when they were all plastered, I would offer to take them out for donuts. Then I'd just pull into a Kmart parking lot and spin donuts. Very proud of my dumb joke I'd pull.

As a Minnesotan, I have to agree.
- I have to ask: "whipping shitties" is done on the lake when you're bored during ice fishing, isn't it?
Whipping shitties is when my dog has diarrhea, gets scared because it's sticking, then runs in a circle while the poop flies around as she tries to clean her butt (think chasing her tail while diarrhea). It happened once, but that was enough.

I kinda want to live amongst a people who call it "whipping shitties", but then I'm colorblind, so who knows where the fuck that is. But on the other hand, I was able to adjust the contrast on my screen, so that kinda bypasses my fucked up colorblind genetics enough that I can see where the whipping shitties people live, and that honestly changed my mind on the whole ideal of living amongst them.
