Fruit growers, let's get more active and make Lemmy a viable place to collaborate and share information and seeds and whatever else!
Stable on the usual communities
Single poster at the moment on
Good activity on
I'm not that present at the moment on !wholesome@reddthat.com , sorry for that @LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone
It's fine np we all get busy sometimes
All the communities I manage are doing well with several regulars engaging and new people showing up here and there. The racing community is in a bit of a lull while I rework some of the bot functionality, that should be going again soon.
There's been an uptick in instance applications lately with most of them coming from reddit users trying Lemmy for the first time. It's very cool to me that new people are willing to try a smaller instance and not all of them immediately join the biggest ones.
Wow, that's a lot of commitment, Blaze. oO
Has the FV turned in to your day job? lol
Anyway, I'm really enjoying the scheduled post feature built in to PieFed. Have used it several times now, and find it a real game-changer.
Only issue is that a few days back I went back and edited a scheduled post (before it got posted) and somehow that seemed to cause it to post at that time, with the result that it got seen by a lot less subscribers than usual. I'll try to test that in future to see if I can replicate the problem, tho.
!mildcurses@piefed.social had a lot of action but has become a bit quiet !southafrica@piefed.social is the one I care about the most, very little going on there but I'll keep at it I recently created !misleadingprices@piefed.social I hope it sees some action
afrikaans@piefed.social I don't have much hope for yet, but it's there and I'll ad posts when I se fit, once the South Africa sub picks up, this stands more of a chance.
Going from a mini-vacation, back to work for a day, then the 3 day weekend with my volunteer work in the middle of that really had me trying to remember to post! 😄
I don't know how you run so many communities here and do all this outreach stuff, very impressive always!
Got some posts from others this last week which has been very nice, big thanks to them. I like seeing stuff pop up that isn't from me. Lady Butterfly's magical owls have been very cheerful, and of course I love hearing about people seeing their own owls and sharing the experience.
Sadly, 2 of the people who shared seeing owls in person, I learned both owls passed almost right after they saw them! I debated saying anything, because I didn't want to dampen their experiences. The one I didn't end up saying anything, as that owl was old and it had a long good second chance on life. The other though was a very unique owl I had recently highlighted a few times for its newsworthiness. I felt that warranted following up on.
I was also happy to have a post for the Birding community. My coworker and I rescued a bird at work, and I took it to my rehab. I had to take off there last week so I didn't get to see it for 2 weeks, which is a 1/4 of a bird's childhood basically, and it's starting to fly and is very healthy looking now. I'm hoping we can release it in another week or 2! I didn't want to share it early on in case it didn't make it, but it's a very vibrant baby, and seeing it hop/fly and to hear it sing was amazing, and I'm glad I have a place to share it here.
!Womensstuff@piefed.blahaj.zone is still steady and !wholesome@reddthat.com has climbed to 2508 users which is great
Well done !
Thanks Blaze!
