As someone whose first job was a grocery store cashier, this was great. Funny enough, I still remember this 1 code since we are now forced to use self checkouts. Still works!
Big same. When I quit the grocery store some 20 years ago, I immediately deleted all those codes from my memory. But this one remains.
Works for steak and OTC medications too.
What?
It’s the produce code for bananas. Probably one of the most widely known as people also use it to steal at grocery stores at self checkout.
It's not stealing if it's from a multi billion dollar corporation.
I never considered using it to price other items! Don't got that stealing mindset, I guess.
My mind is reeling from the idea that there's universal codes. I would have imagined that every retailer maintained their own inventory and codes.
I don't get it...
You should use 94011, way more secure.
If you focus on the background you see a disturbing ball sack.
AI said you can dewrinkle that ballsack with a steamer or an iron!
A long time ago in a synapse far far away in another corner of my brain:
1077
Wow. That is a very obscure reference but I got it.
well i did not
Most (all?) fruit sold in American grocers has an assigned code for ringing up at the register. Bananas is the only one I remember anymore, but it's 4011. Not sure if it's a global standard.
It is the PLU code used for bananas in grocery stores. The PLU code is the code the cashier punches in before weighing the produce to get the correct price.
I think that's because 4011 is a cool number for bananas /s
No jk, I don't know
I didn't.
::: spoiler Spoiler
In the US and likely elsewhere, 4011 is the scale/cash register code for non-organic bananas sold by weight.
