  • Including this incident from Melbourne seems incredibly intellectually dishonest, the cause hasn't been determined yet but climate change doesn't seem to be a factor at all. It just detracts from the article as a whole and it's message:

    In Melbourne, a derailment in July shut down two major lines for a week, disrupting the daily commute for tens of thousands of people.

      yeah there's no way climate change had anything to do with that one

  • Lack of maintenance is causing these rails to fail.

    That said, if the people with the power to authorise maintenance are CCDs, they may not authorise as much maintenance as those who admit that Climate Change is happening. In fact CCDs would have a vested interest in reducing maintenance to justify their biases.
