I’m guessing it might have something to do with the fact that this song was written in a certain period and it was written in a certain way. A lot of it is in keeping with the theme and imagery that the band is going for. In the case of "The Beatles", that is not something you can take away from the song. For sure, they would have played a little differently had they written this song differently. There is a very good reason why they wrote this song, though: it was one of the earliest and most commercially successful singles of all time, and there are plenty of songs that have more lyrics than this.
