I’ve heard that story before. A woman named Linda had a crush on her professor but couldn’t stand her feelings. She told a crush she was in a crush on someone else and ended up with him. He cheated on her. She told her professor about his cheating. She ended up dating someone else. In that story, the protagonist also cheated on her with a different professor. This other professor cheated on his cheating wife and the protagonist cheated on his cheating wife. The cheating was discovered by the protagonist, and now they’re married. The cheating was discovered by the other professor, and now they’re cheating.

I feel so bad that protag is stuck with a poor girlfriend who probably cheated on her with her ex, I know there are a lot of people who would be upset by that, but the cheating angle doesn't work here. They cheated on her with the best man for several months before she dumped him and cheated on him with this random man who probably cheated on her as well. I know cheating is a bad thing, and that cheating can ruin a people life, but I just feel bad for having to deal with it.
