Why do small wounds sometimes form pale yellow crystals over top instead of scabs?

It is serous drainage, basically plasma that has separated out from your blood and dried. It's a normal and healthy part of the healing process. When a wound has less blood associated with it you are more likely to get serous drainage rather than a 'proper' scab.

Brother, how is it that you can type this question into a lemmy instance, and not google?
Serous fluid, also known as serous exudate, is a thin, watery, and typically clear or pale yellow fluid that drains from wounds or body cavities. It's a normal part of the inflammatory phase of wound healing and is composed primarily of serum from blood plasma. While usually odorless, it can sometimes have a pale yellowish hue.
Because you get a variety of answers and can ask follow up questions? Asking things in forums is a great way to learn things.
Maybe the name of the community should be "No Questions", since anything can be searched for.
Because I don't trust the AI answers than now bubble atop relevant links.
Then ignore the AI answers and click on the relevant links?
Just type โfuckโ before your search and you wonโt get an AI response.
Note the community that we are in. If every researchable topic was just researched instead of posted about, this community would die off completely.
Because google does not always give correct info and ever since instituting AI you canโt trust a thing it says there are so many errors.
We are here to talk and make friends as much as we are here to get the answer. OP had a question and asked it. Why does that bother you so much?
