‘You know what? I’ve said this before. We need to learn from the Blacks. The way they were able to remove the power from the n-word by using it,” Greg Gutfeld declared on Tuesday.
Anytime I hear someone say, "The Blacks" I know they're about to say the most racists thing I've ever heard. I'm not sure how the next person is gonna top this one this one though.
I've legitimately considered cancelling my HBO Max subscription because it tries to auto play Maher's show after Last Week Tonight, and I've found no way to mark the show as something I never want on my TV.
I always recognized that it sounded off but I didn't realize why until recently. It's because it's dehumanizing. "The blacks/the gays/the Jews" vs "black people/gay people/Jewish people" carries a sense of otherness, or less than. It's amazing how such a small differnce in verbiage can change the whole tone of a sentence.
It's interesting... It's the same people who will pretend they're not racist by saying "African American" when a black person is actually present, as if they need to walk on eggshells. Like dude, you can say "black," just try doing it without all the fucking contempt.
But apparently they can't, and it always comes out in the way you're referring to.
And the rest of the people in the room, in front of and behind the camera, don't immediately shut him down, cut to commercial, and then return with an apology for having platformed a fucking Nazi.
You know what they say about a Nazi at the table and ten other people sitting there talking to him...
Yes. Please adopt that and say this incessantly in front of people. Make sure to say it loud and proud. This will work out just like you imagined it in your head.
