There are hints that the current government's actions are widening a cultural rift in the church. Considering how large the Catholic church is, I'm really interested to see how this plays out.

But, when asshole reporters make up shit, they suddenly have a story.
Religions are conservative, especially this one. Their leader just affirmed their hate for the LGBT community publically. This is a hate church, spreading hate in their community. Religions like these are responsible for the hate that they supposedly protect their followers from.
Catholics vote red. Nothing else matters except saving the unborn babies.
