This is the first version, so I expect there to be a few mistakes. Please flag and provide feedback if you notice any improvements.
Immich doesn't have any fees, just optional donations
I completely misread their pricing page. I see that is more about donations now. Will correct this - thanks!
Immich has a version of memories, though maybe you have it defined differently?
It could be that I am using a different definition, and hope I am wrong in this, as even without this feature, Immich is one of the best options available.
That said, I am referring to this feature: https://github.com/immich-app/immich/discussions/2836
If it has something similar, then I'll happily consider it. To me, this is one of the more advanced (and well-liked) features of a photo app, which is why I have it there to help differentiate.
What does their current Memories feature do?
Problem is just that Google Photos pricing is way better. Ente is almost twice as expensive. 200 GB for 5 euro per month versus ~2.8 euro per month.
Idk about the others, but I gotta say that Recognize, what Nextcloud uses for facial and object recognition, is god awful. You'd be lucky if it recognised and grouped 50% of the faces correctly.
Where is piwigo ? https://piwigo.org/
( I'm biased I work for them )
Always great connecting with the people behind the product! Piwigo almost made it to the diagram (it is featured below).
The only reason it didn't was that it felt more like a tool for professionals than the average user looking to manage/view their photos.
Oh I missed it, sorry !
It's true it's more geared toward exposing the album. Most of our clients are association, regional administration or photograpah so it make sense it didn't make the list. The strengh of piwigo lies in the rich plugin ecosystem.
I don't directly work on piwigo itself but I'm behind the ( soon to be released ) official docker image and I maintain the Android app.
I think Proton Drive have something called "Albums" now?
This post makes it sound like "photo management" is a need everyone has. I just use folders and sub-folders.
Immich is actually totally free to self-host. The just added a button to show whether you’re a supporter or not for a once off fee
