Easy solution. Ban cloud based solar inverters, put the monitoring on board and make it work through LAN discovery. Then the whole thing doesnt need any internet connection. I never did something like that before and it took me less then a day to set up with a raspberrypi, so these companies can definitely do it.
But then they don't make money via surveillance!
