I started a really boring job recently. And its bearable only because I can listen to audiobooks. But my Spotify said I used up all the 15hrs for the month. Wtf?
Anyway, I would love some sci-fi or fantasy audiobooks and didn't have a lot of luck on 1337x
Any suggestions?
Feel free to drop magnet links if you have a collection or something. 😀
You should get a library card and the Libby app. Lots and lots of free audiobooks.
I read kindle versions, but there are almost always audio versions of everything I read. I read a ton of SF and fantasy - if you tell me the kind of stuff you like I can suggest some titles.
A couple years ago, after I sharply increased my reading, my wife (who paid the bills) came and said, "I don't want to discourage you at all from a healthy hobby, but I wanted to make sure you realized that, in the last couple of months, you've spent like $200 on books." In fact, I hadn't realized it was that much. That's when I started trying to figure out a cheaper way to read.
I read even more now. So far this year I've read 46 novels. That would be prohibitively expensive if not for Libby.
I've got about 4000 audiobooks, 80% of which is sci-fi/speculation fiction and they came from audiobookbay. Great site for audiobooks. These are the droids OP is looking for.
I normally sail the high seas, but I have had similar difficulties to yours. I had a recent long car trip and had very good success with hoopla and linking it to my local library card. Totally free. I would give that a shot honestly.
I don't listen to audiobooks to know any good titles, but sites that sell book bundles also usually have audiobook bundles, so maybe they're a good starting point for finding titles?
Also, if you use Spotify, I can presume you're at least not overly against DRM, so maybe you'd be interested in Storytel? Came across it a while back and people seemed to talk well of it, apparently being a subscription-based streaming, but didn't look for further info on it as I saw it is "DRM'd".
And would you mind giving a hint to people looking for jobs? I wish my job was boring, instead I have nine hour shifts with no chair to sit, doing customer service
