The felling of what is estimated to be hundreds of tingle trees in a burn last December has sparked fresh calls for a review of prescribed burning in WA.
house/dog sitting in the south west for a month and one thing is abundantly clear... they love to burn shit here. it's like a trip back to the 80's when ppl would burn piles of leaf litter in their backyards.
so i'm thinking that gov is well aware that there is an underlying cultural bias... kinda like killing sharks and shooting random dingoes back east.
edit: literally stepped outside after posting that and got a big wiff of neighbour burning.
It drives me nuts when they decide to burn huge patches of forest that are no where near anyone's property resulting in terrible air quality in major population centres.
It will be something that in 50 years people will look back on in wonderment at how wrong the DBCA were.
