Americans are losing spending power, say researchers: Most can no longer afford a 'minimal quality of life'
The Ludwig Institute's Minimal Quality of Life Index found that, in 2023, only 40% of Americans earned enough money to get by in relative comfort.
And more fun: 25% are functionally unemployed. I'm pretty sure this is (combined with spending three months of campaign time telling said poor people to be joyful) is what got Donald reelected.
Fuck. That’s the least tone-deaf financial reporting I’ve seen from a major outlet in a long time. That can’t be a good sign.
The cynic in me thinks they are just trying to steer attention away from the protests. People weren't taking to the streets to protest shit wages. Would have been reasonable if they did, but attention there is attention somewhere protests weren't occurring.
But we have our freedom and that’s enough for real Americans, not those selfish sons of bitches that want a strong beautiful military and fresh healthy food. /s
