Is mayonnaise a distribution?
140 0 ReplyLooks like it. You distribute it across the bread.
67 0 ReplyIt will be now that the idea has been sown.
Then there will be rival distros that hate each other. Dukes vs Miracle Whip debates. etc.
4 0 ReplyMiracle Whip is not mayonnaise. And no one actually knows what it is other then just plain nasty. Never, ever buy Miracle Whip.

This is what using Lemmy feels like sometimes.

- don't you care about your privacy?
- All AI is all slop all the time. If you think of using AI you are garbage.
- Star Trek. I have no issues with my Star Trek homies. Y'all are awesome.

9 0 Reply- Capitalism is always given as the reason something is bad, that way nobody has to try and improve anything because the revolution is for later and working within the system is supporting the bad thing.

If you are so sassy about people having fun, just block the instance. I cant promise you will stop reading about linux, but your feed will be co siderably cleaner

I'm sure Linux is overrepresented across the whole of Lemmy but to be fair, we are in a community specifically about Linux. You could also just block the term Linux and be done with it
12 0 ReplyIf you think this meme is a depiction of something worth blocking all Linux communities over, then we are not on the same page. I was just poking fun.

No need for a vm btw, you can try a lot of them from your browser using distrosea.
31 0 ReplyThis doesn't really help you see what runs on your hardware.
A distribution isn't a desktop.
2 0 ReplyNeither does a vm

Or just start with Ubuntu, while using a good mayonnaise for your grilled cheese.
10 0 ReplyEven better, Debian. Most peaceful distro ever.
2 0 ReplyUbuntu is the miracle whip of distros.
3 0 ReplyI have to start looking for something a bit lighter than Ubuntu for my old Toughbook CF-30. I had Mint on an older laptop, years ago, and liked it. I'm not opposed to any flavor of Linux...I just want easy, the closest thing to issue/maintenance free, while taking full advantage or the specs I have to work with.

arch is like when you put bacon on your grilled cheese and dip it in tomato soup
8 0 ReplyJust be to grow your own tomatoes and raise your own cows first
5 0 ReplyIve always used Debian based OS and I'm scared of arch. But I'm intrigued.

instead of fried chicken, eat grilled chicken, instead of soda, drink grilled chicken
8 0 ReplyAlright guys I'm gonna tell you...I don't use butter on my grilled cheese.
Nah. I use mayonnaise. A very thin coating, it doesn't take much -- and ultimately it's easier for butter to be many more calories and taste inferior
7 0 ReplyInteresting. I put mayo on my hot dog buns. Just makes it better.
1 0 ReplyMayo is an easy cheat code for a lot of things.

1 0 ReplyBeen very tempted to get a beelink mini PC, N150 doesn't cost much and could stick proxmox and Debian VMs on it
1 0 ReplyGiven up on butter I see
