Nah they just wanna replace it with Gen AI
Duolingo has been systemically firing their workers and replacing them with AI.
I know. I'm also quite fed up with their aggressive push messages and the annoying way they change the icon of the app every day. But I'm also addicted and I'm close to a 1000 day streak.
This title hurts me.

No one who has ever had their brain taken out has survived. Murder is just a side effect, they just need your big beautiful brain. I guess these guys are working for duolingo nowadays:
