A small suggestion for the settings page: The "Delete account" button should probably be a bit trickier to press by accident. Right now its colour changes by theme, and as it is at the bottom of the page it's easy to assume it's the "save changes" button if you don't read. I would assume it asks for a confirmation before deleting the profile, but nevertheless it seems a bit dangerous.
One suggestion would be to make sure it's always red with white text independent of theme. Another would be to change its position, for example by lifting it up into the settings or moving it to the right side of the content so that it doesn't align with everything else. :)
thanks for all really refreshing from someone formerly on Reddit to and quit permanently, to see flairs again (also I like some features here like Feeds to be able to separate by topic). do you think it would be feasible to have TOTP 2FA on PieFed someday?
I think having the option of only moderators setting user flairs could be useful. having communities where moderators validate the credentials of users could improve trustworthiness.
- piefed moderator in Lemmy community can't add flairs in that community. that was UX/UI problem. There isn't a settings button in options dropdown menu.
spoiler flairs don't exist (I don't see anything like that).
Assigning post flair as a piefed mod to a lemmy post in a lemmy community does work, but it is a bit janky when it comes to federation. The post flair doesn't federate out to other piefed instances (like feddit.online) because the flair assignment isn't forwarded out by the host lemmy instance. Additionally, if the lemmy post is edited in any way, the post flair is dropped and needs to be reassigned.
spoiler flair
This would be nice to have with it behaving similar to nsfw posts (blurred image). What I have done so far in the !anime@ani.social and !manga@ani.social communities is I have added a normal flair that is called spoiler. But that doesn't really do anything special.
Hey, wanted to follow up on this and let you know that spoiler flairs are now a thing. Community mods, when they are making or editing the post flairs in their communities, can toggle whether a post flair should blur the content or not. So, as a concrete example, I created a flair called Spoiler in !anime@ani.social, and if a post is tagged with that, then the images will be blurred.
Right now, this feature only works on piefed because lemmy doesn't support post flairs at all. Additionally, there are some complications about post flairs that crop up when a community's home instance is a lemmy instance. Basically, lemmy doesn't federate out post flair at all. So, even if I am assigning post flair from piefed.social, it doesn't federate out to other piefed instances because it isn't federated out by the community's home lemmy instance.
