Fewer Americans travelling to Canada
I was born and raised in the US but my wife is from Mexico and each time we get back from a trip there I kind of wish we’d stayed instead.
With the direction the US is heading, you might get your wish. Soon only second-generation-American-born White Male Landowners will be allowed back in the country. Check the original US Constitution on who was an unencumbered American Citizen.
You may wish also to check out whether you may be able to claim citizenship by descent under an Interim measure related to the Bjornquist ‘Lost Canadians’ decision.
It requires one Canadian-born ancestor (not a child of other countries foreign service).
While I wouldn’t usually recommend Reddit, the r/CanadianCitizenship subreddit has a useful FAQ on the Interim Measure and people posting about their experiences with the process.
Anecdotally it doesn't seem to be a significant drop, at least not everywhere. The ferries to Vancouver Island were crammed full of Americans on their memorial weekend.
I wonder, what are the changes to the out-of-country coverage terms of the American health care plans? They are not covered by Canadian schemes, and any American coverage is entirely up to the plan providers. It would be an easy way for them to cut costs.
I can’t blame the Americans.. it’s simple to get to Canada, but they might get arrested by ICE when they try to come back home…

EDIT: I just saw that’s what the majority of the YouTube comments were saying 😅
