Donald Trump argued that a GOP budget bill should help only Republican states instead of benefiting Democratic governors.
"We're going to make a couple of tweaks," Trump said of his "one big beautiful bill" during a Tuesday trip to Capitol Hill. "I mean, we don't want to benefit Democrat governors, although I would do that if it made it better, but they don't know what they're doing."
"We want to help all the states, but we have governors that are from the Democrat [sic] party, let's say New York, Illinois, big ones, and let's say Gavin 'Newscum,' who's done a horrible job in California."
He is objectively the most prolific traitor in American history, and it isn't even close. He's literally worse than ALL other American traitors COMBINED. It's not even a debate.
When I say "not my president", it's not me refusing to acknowledge Trump's authority/ being a sovereign citizen. It's me saying he is acting in a deliberately antagonist way. He sees us as the enemy. He isn't leading, in fact he's doing the opposite.
Here's what's supposed to be normal: even if you don't vote for someone in office, you are still their responsibility. JB Pritzker still has a responsibility to protect Republicans in Illinois. Greg Abbott still has the responsibility to protect democrats in Texas.
The whole West Coast should secede, and form an alliance with Canada and Mexico. That would surround about 2/3 of the country with enemy territory, and cut America off from the entire west coast shipping lanes. They could charge America exorbitant tariffs to ship goods through the Rockies.
Note that there’s no claim of it helping any people or benefitting constituents, even his own. In this world of narcissism, there’s only “what’s in it for me?” And “how to spite anyone who disagrees with me?”
California, Oregon, Washington. I think you should join Canada! Free Health Care. It’s not perfect, but you won’t lose your house or life savings if you have a health issue.
The devistating war is already on, and has been for generations. Maybe it's a cold war from folks perspective, but I would contend that's a matter of privilege.
Oi let's get a Revolt app server up and running for each state and get people on it to work together to make that happen
Especially to work on all kinds of issues, discuss things, inform each other, collaborate, & show progress/milestones for all kinds of things
That's what we're all missing. A huge community for each state with ability to set it to specific cities/towns while still being informed about whole state. And have a server for whole country too
That way we don't waste more time trying to reach out to people, or get people to do because we would all be in the same servers
Yesterday I drove into my home town, where I grew up. It's been hard to go there since MAGA erupted. In a usually-blue state, my home town (and the surrounding area) goes deep red. I wish I could say it was inexplicable, but I grew up around these people - their current authoritarian boot-licking matches up with everything I always knew about them.
How wonderful this news could've been to hear on the TV 12 hours ago, when I was back in that town, sitting in a waiting room. There was only one other person in the room, a middle-aged white guy who kept loudly saying things in response to the news on the TV. I'm pretty sure he was just trying to chat with someone, but I know how easy it is to accidentally set some people off, and I'm not about to make small talk about the news with a stranger in that town.
So I ignored him. He kept making unsolicited commentary. I kept reading my phone. Thankfully, someone eventually entered the room with a dog, and that gave the man a chance to start a conversation about the good boi, which the dog's owner happily obliged. But now I wonder what he would have said if this story had been on the news at that time. It might have actually been entertaining.
Let me sure I got this right. Your plan is to take states that don't like you and teach them to be more independent of the federal government, is that correct?
and we should have seceded and stopped paying fed taxes a long time ago.
at least im doing my part. I can cheat my ass off on my taxes and take payments under the table. they'll be none the wiser. especially now that they've gut the IRS. If that hurts the blue state i live in, fine. like i said, we should have seceded already.
I live in NC. We have a Dem governor, but the House and Senate are controlled by Republicans. The state has gone to Trump three times. What is his plan with that?
I hate that we're literally funding them to drag us all back to the dark ages since the blue states receive less than they pay in taxes and vice versa with the red.
Terrible idea. That would kill millions and also kill a ton of people that hate Trump. Plus, cut off that area of land for 100s of years. If using nukes weren't a big deal, they would be used in common skirmishes.
I don't think he realizes this isn't the gotcha he thinks.
That means the poverty line between the states that already exists is going to get even worse, because they are taxing the lower income brackets even worse.
Oh for sure. But it’s just so stupid that Republicans are going the “power grab” route since probably Democrats (might) be so inclined to do the same next time they have power.
This seems to be a strategic engagement inducing comment but I'll bite.
One additional piece of obvious information will probably adjust initial impressions of the above comment. So Harris "won" 20 states and Trump 30... so using some napkin math and by looking at that statement on it's surface (I noticed you didn't actually make a claim one way or the other) that means.... Harris states, on average, generate roughly 30% more GDP than Trump states.
Edit: Punctuation
Edit Edit: Harris is 19 + DC and Trump 31 so it's actually closer to 32-34% (If you count DC or not).
