Why is everyone using the word "slam" wrongly these days. They were hit with batons. Slamming in this context would be a full body slam to the ground.
Super stupid by the cops tho, they are really just trying to provoke a reaction here so they can escalate. If they deem the gathering illegal they can just arrest everyone and be done with it, but instead they resort to completely unprompted violence.
I did it for fun because in this case people were actually slammed. With batons.
