Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter looks like a ridiculously cool remake based on everything we've seen of it so far — but some fans have long wondered whether the game will simply reuse the old localisation from when Trails in the Sky was originally brought overseas by publisher Xseed Games. As it turns out, 1st Chapter will feature a newly localised script, as per the official pre-order information from remake publisher GungHo Online Entertainment. The thing is, the old game's English script has, at times, been accused of being an inaccurate representation of the original Japanese writing. It's not what we'd call a popular complaint — we happen to think the Sky games have a largely charming localisation — but it'll be interesting to see how this reworked script compares. Indeed, GungHo specifically states: "Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter features a new localization, ensuring an authentic and engaging experience that honors the original Japanese text." 🖊️️🤖

Tempest Rising released on Steam on April 17 instead of April 24. The mistake had something to do with a seven-day early unlock period that was meant to start yesterday. Only those who pre-purchased the Deluxe Edition were supposed to be granted access, while others would have to wait for the full launch. 🖋️🤖

Grew up with Fighting Fantasy & Lone Wolf, loved their compact worlds. Felt more agency than in big RPGs. Modern games often feel mechanical; 80s/90s gamebooks had elegant, hand-written choices. Created Greymarsh & Bloodwood Dungeon as love letters to them. Would love feedback—free keys for honest reviews!

Garou was something of an experiment akin to Street Fighter III, taking place 10 years after Real Bout Fatal Fury (but crucially not Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers). Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ menus look like they were made in Microsoft Paint, so I knew it would be a banger from the moment I first launched it.
