A man applied for a card from the Beachwood Library and, over two visits, withdrew 100 books. He later posted two videos, one in which he burned all of the books.
Alright. Lets organize this. Lets find out all 100 books that he withdrew, and then we'll organize a donation drive to redonate ALL 100 books that he burned.
The 100 books were valued at approximately $1,700. As the books were not yet overdue, the library will wait until they are overdue, then send a bill to the man.
When I was in the 4th grade I took out a book on how to make puppets. Then I went to a fabrics store and my mom bought me all these materials, and we made arts and crafts puppets. Which I then got an F in my class for, despite the fact my puppets were 1000x better than everybody elses. Mine had styrofoam heads, but could still move the mouths, because we cut those parts into seperate pieces. They looked like home made original muppets. While everyone elses looked like shit.
I got an F because it was catholic school, and my mom and I were both open athiests.
I asked my dad to return that book to the library before next Friday, or it would be late. He said he did.
Flash forward to me being 18, and I'm packing my stuff to move into my first apartment. In the storage area I find the book.
I took it back to the library. Expecting to be hit with like 8 years worth of fines. The little old lady just smiled and said I look too old to be making puppets. I told her the story, and she said "Well we'll just chalk this up to learning lifes lessions."
I never got a fine, but also, I wasn't being a racist piece of shit either. So, I guess this is a long winded way of saying that I don't know if they'll actually be able to collect that late fee.
