I don't know why, I know nothing about him and I even had to look up his name because I had no idea what his name was. But there's something that upsets me badly.
Will Smith and Jared Leto for sure (including 2049, which was a disgrace compared to the masterpiece that is the original, despite me loving Arrival, Dune Part I and Sicario).
I also cannot stand anyone meant to appeal only to Americans, like Kevin Hart, Chevy Chase, Queen Latifah and all that stuff.
Used to like Tom Hanks in the 1990s, but after that he became part of the latter group for me.
If you are ever going to try again watching a The Rock movie (I don't mind him at all, although not being calling me to watch a movie), please make it Hercules: that movie genuinely surprised me.
Gal gadot and Elisabeth Moss for me.
Also not a fan of Jason Momoa/Chris Hemsworth type of guys. Anything with them in the lead and I generally nope out. It has to do with the plain, flat, repetitive characters and lack of depth, not the physique (for example I respect dave Bautista evolution).
Til Schweiger and Matthias Schweighöfer.
I hope none of you have ever heard of them. They are just bad at acting and the movies where one of them is the director are just horrible... and still they are in sooo many german movies.
I just can’t. He makes me anxious just seeing him on screen. I so want to watch Meet the Fockers because DeNiro is one of my faves, I just can’t do it.
He's an alright actor, but seeing him always reminds me of that time he got drunk (rumored) and killed two people with his car in Ireland but faced almost zero repercussions (he got a small fine).
Melissa McCarthy does that for me. It's getting better, but for the longest time I'd see an interview with her about some project and she's funny, charming, intelligent, and convinces me to check it out. Then I would watch the thing and it's like "Haha fat girl poopoo fart." .
Leonardo DiCaprio. I can never believe he is the character I always see an actor trying to portrait a character. Like with other actores I can believe I am seeing something that happened. With DiCaprio I'm always aware that I'm watching an actor doing a performance.
I don't know if that makes a lot of sense. But it's one of the few "good" actor that makes me feel this way.
Julia Stiles.
Saw her in Save the Last Dance and some other movie and absolutely could not get on with the movie. It's like she's not acting or doesn't know how to act. She's kind of like in audition mode the entire time and I just don't get anything from her face or her actions. I sometimes get the same thing from Keanu but at least I like the movies he's in. With her I just rage quit 5 min in seeing her. She just ruins it for me. Also yes, also don't like The Rock. I'm sure we saw the same YouTube vid where the guy bashes on him for not knowing how to act as any other "character"... which when looking back, it's true. He's literally the same persona every god damn time.
He has zero charisma and was largely responsible for bringing down the quality of Altered Carbon S2 (though the writers did him no favours) and was the most boring part of The Falcon & Winter Soldier.
I couldn't bring myself to watch the new Captain America movie mainly because of him being in the lead role.
None. I dislike some actors, but so many other people pour part of themselves into these things and influence each other when developing them that it's impossible for me to not have at least some curiosity.
Tom Hanks. I'm not sure why, as he seems like a perfectly nice person, and even a good actor. But I just find him incredibly irritating for some reason.
Not a specific performer, but I avoid the It Girl stuff like the plague.
Sydney Sweeney, Jenna Ortega, Selina Gomez, those types where they're going to be super hot products for a few years while they're young and then they fall off once they age out of prime fuckability. I find it super disturbing, it's like a sword is hovering over them.
Jon Hamm might have bodies hidden somewhere. That guy sets off so many red flags for me, but is beloved by everyone. I'm telling you, I'm pretty sure he might be evil.
I mean there's a list of actors that have ruined their shows for me:
Danny Masterson
Bill Cosby
Kevin Spacey
James Franco
Kevin Sorbo
Tom Cruise
So it's not really what you asked because these are ones that I used to love and no longer do.
For the dumbest reasons, I can't enjoy Gal Gadot. Her acting is repellent to me for some reason. Yes, she's absolutely gorgeous but the acting ain't great.
I also didn't enjoy Heather Graham's acting but then I watched her in Scrubs and the role was just perfect.
I hated The Rock's acting as well, but my ex had a crush on him so we watched so many of his movies. Almost all of them shite.
Kevin Hart- doesn't act, plays himself but doesn't lean into that like Ryan Reynolds does.
Will Smith- more of the above in recent years
Jonah Hill- something inside me screams asshole every time I look at him
Tom Cruise- he can take his propaganda elsewhere.
Will Smith, after that slapping Chris Rock nonsense
Oh and (am Asian and tried to give her a chance but) Akwafina makes me cringe
Honorable mention: Adam Sandler makes me very wary. I get that he likes making movies with friends, but goddang his lows are low. Although recently I thought Uncut Gems was good
Leonardo DiCaprio (I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I've believed he was a shit actor forever and there's a reason it took him so long to get an oscar...and it wasn't because of "snubbing"...he was just routinely shit up until the Revenant.)
John Travolta
Jennifer Lawrence (Up until recently, she was literally the female DiCaprio. Everything I said about him applied to her. Unlike DiCaprio, she got far far better rather quickly and my issue with her nowadays is mostly her choice of movies just aren't my jam.)
Hugh Grant. I'm sure he's both a wonderful person and a great actor, but... he seems to have gotten typecast into a certain type of movie that I just cannot stand. He's become a litmus test for movies I should just not bother watching.
