Biggest problem: I've seen several kill their own batteries. Like 3V across both main and aux batteries. That's not really recoverable without battery replacement.
General quality control is bad (I have to be careful not to give details here. I like my job).
Subjectively, I just don't like the vehicle. It's the flagship for everything wrong with the auto industry. It's too big, too heavy, handles like shit, too many things to distract you from actually driving the fucking thing.

At less than 5 years old, the oil pan rusted out. I live in an area that salts roads in the winter, but even 10 year old 80's cars back in the 90's didn't rust out that bad

I don’t even enjoy driving full-size trucks or SUVs. Though high up, they’re hard to see out of… the giant hood is on your way when off-roading and you can’t tell if you’re about to drive off a cliff. Can’t see children in front of the car, or anything behind it without a rear view cam. Poor stopping and turning, harder to park, terrible fuel economy.

That little turbo motor rules. I have the eco boost in my Ranger and it’s just a great pairing. Smaller truck (it’s about the size of a Tacoma) with the eco boost = great experience. Tows my side by side with ease and I get decent highway mileage, which is great for our trips and getting to my office which is 90% highway.
It's also worth considering how much of those sales come from companies buying fleets of them. Slightly different monster than private consumers.
Years ago when I worked for a dealer one of the salesman pointed out it's the "F series" which includes everything with the F all the way up to delivery / commercial trucks. Nothing is going to touch the volume of all of those different categories of sales combined.
Still suspect the F150 numbers are pretty good.

"Wagoneer" is absolutely the top of my list for the STUPIDEST name for a vehicle. How that makes it out of any boardroom is just unfathomable.
The Wagoneer model started in 1963. Been around a LONG time. The classic models are actually pretty cool, but the 2024 is generic.
I recall renting a Grand cherokee in 2016 and being disappointed to find it was like driving a caravan in a lot of ways. Nothing like the older Grand and regular Cherokees I use to own.
The "new" Cherokee seems to be like a slightly larger Patriot clone. It's like the movie industry creating new movies with old names. The new stuff is usually not as good or completely different.
I agree Wagoneer is a stupid name, but I think Mitsubishi Pajero is worse, "Pajero" meaning "Wanker" in chilean spanish.

I got rid of my gas guzzler (Ford Expedition) the end of last year for this reason. I hated driving it daily to have the ability to tow our camper a few times a year. I sold them both and got a used Mitsubishi Lancer, it’s fun to drive and gets 33 mpg. Oh and it fits a family of 4, no problem. If you regularly need 3 rows and the same cargo space as a tool shed, you need to reevaluate. Lol
People who have children should be worried about these monstrosities. I am a full grown adult and could walk in front of large vehicles completely unnoticed, what chances do kids have unless they too are in one of the giant things. Then everyone is driving them through a desert hellscape after we've killed every other living thing by driving them.
