ABC News' Day 100 interview with President Donald Trump went off the rails after reporter Terry Moran refused to accept Trump's false assertion that an altered photo was real.Trump and Moran were discussing the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia — the Maryland resident who the administration admitted was ...
I hate the moronic way in which Trump speaks. It's such a waste of everyone's time and energy.
Nobody actually listens to Trump speak because our brain cells don't recover as fast as they die off trying to make sense of what comes out of his fat mouth.
I hate it almost as much as I hate Dr. Brain Worm speak. RFK Jr always sounds like he's got the world's collective phlegm stuck in his throat when he speaks.
Truth is we want to believe "nobody" listens to him, a lot of people listen to him. That's why we are where we are. I saw a group of 60-70 year olds protesting his bullshit by my house today (small mountain town) and it was awesome. Granted, I live in California but it's a majority red area and I think even those that did listen to him are starting to actually hear him. And they're not ok with it, he won't succeed ultimately. There's hope here yet.
The world listens to him. Listens to him more than anyone else in the entire world. He's the most listened to in the entire world. By the way he's a rapist, pedophile, and convicted felon but you wouldn't know that just by looking at him. You just wouldn't know that. But it's true.
Remember not a lot of the world speaks English. When I talked to some of my Japanese friends and language exchange partners prior to this election they weren’t sure about trump but typically described him as someone who was a powerful leader
Also keep in mind that they generally are super polite and in that “if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all” space. Except for a small handful I’m very close with even now they won’t say much bad, will just ask “how are things in America”, “what’s the perception of him in America”, etc and will artfully dodge the question of “what’s the perception of him in Japan. Except for my one friend who’s more outspoken and we are a bit closer, who is like “end the trade alliance and force all the military bases to close!”
But to my original point much of his crass and idiotic behavior doesn’t necessarily translate well and usually doesn’t make the news on NHK. It’s kind of similar to how American news headlines do him so many favors. If you only know trump through Washington post, NYT, etc headlines he sounds so much more competent than he is. But if watch him speak you realize he is just so goddamn stupid
RFK has a disease, he can't help that he speaks the way he does. I know the fascists wouldn't cut anyone slack over it, but I personally hate dunking on people about stuff they can't change about themselves-- it's part of why I'm not a fascist. Tbh, I hate hearing him speak, but it's because it sounds like it's tremendously painful for him to talk, and I wish he would stop putting himself in these situations that require him to speak. Apart from that, I also wish he would shut the fuck up and go find a field and stand in it.
I have a disease as well, and RFK Jr wants to send me to a labor camp for it because he believes my disease is something I am choosing to have despite its painful disadvantages.
Thus, I disagree.
We all need to dunk on him as much as possible for the disease he has that he cannot change because vicious mockery is the only thing that cows narcissists.
I mean, just look at Elon after he got bullied online playing PoE. Their own behavior turned against them is the only thing they understand.
Lots of people listen to Trump. I was at a mall and an owner of the jewelry store was loudly listening to Trump. Last summer he was stomping out bugs that have taken over my area and leaving their carcasses for everyone to see. I specifically hope he gets what he voted for.
I deliberately didn't watch that interview because i knew that I didnt have enough liquor in the house to get through it. The more I read about it, the more i know i made the right choice. I would have been SCREAMING at the TV.
We have to do something about this psychopath, and his henchmen. We are literally repeating Nazi Germany.
Can we just like write MS13 with MS Paint on JD Vance forehead and claim he has MS13 tattoos on him and deport him to El Salvador? Maybe even do the same for Trump and "photoshop" it on his ass.
Did you watch the whole interview or read it? There is no mistake. He thinks that on his knuckles was "M S 1 3" in Arial font in real life. The interviewer tried to give him the out, said that the tattoo could be interpreted that way, and then tried to move on. But Trump doubled down multiple times and said that there is no interpretation. That the literal letters and numbers were tattooed on him. So, there is no ambiguity to what Trump is insisting is true. You can question whether he is actually stupid enough to believe that (he is), or just thinks that his followers and the media are stupid enough to believe it (he does), but there is no longer any question as to whether Trump is claiming that the literal letters are tattooed on him. He said so unequivocally.
Based on the interview, it's easier for me to believe the first option.
I think someone showed him the annotated picture and that person never believed he'd think the ms13 was literally part of the tattoo. Once he asserted it, who in his camp is going to tell him he's wrong?
Option 1a, he believes the Arial font is a tattoo because he has shitty eyesight (so to him, the blurry text doesn't look obviously Photoshopped on), but nobody knows that because he's too vain to wear glasses.
Need better damn headlines. Begging is maybe only technically correct but doesn't capture any of the emotion or self righteousness of the situation. He ordered and acted the fool. But it was chastising like "why can't you just say yes? I'm so nice to you and this is how you return the favor?"
I like when donvict says that (paraphrasing) "this is why no one trusts you", referring to the media. No, only mouth breathers like donvict don't trust corporate media for calling out blatant lies like these. Mouth breathers fell for the lie that the likes of Faux is news.
The rest of us are suspicious of the corporate bothsiderist media when they don't call out the blatant LIES in starker terms.
I'm not very charitable to Trump, because he doesn't deserve it. I watched this particular clip and I got big "technically illiterate boomer who doesn't realize that any grade schooler can put 'M', 'S', '1', '3' on HIS hands in MS paint" vibes from him. That doesn't give him a pass in this situation, it's 2025, I expect the president to be vaguely aware of the technological capabilities of 98% of personal computers put on the market since 1998. It's also possible, I suppose, that he's aware it's a shoop and doesn't believe other people are capable of spotting it as being an edited photo; I can see him being a big enough narcissist to really believe that everybody else is really that stupid. I mean, I guess I can't blame him, just look at his rallies.
Daily Show pointed out what many seem to have missed and seeing the reporter's reaction to donvict talking about the Declaration of Independence and how it is about "unity", lol....
Fucking Greg Gutfeld on Fox News then reiterated and reinforced exactly what the interviewer said, that the letters and numbers were added as an interpretation of the meaning of the symbols, BUT then claimed that the interviewer said that the entire tattoo was faked in photoshop (not just the annotation) and that Trump was correcting him. Such a blatant bold faced lie that literally anyone who watched the interview would know. How the fuck do these asshats keep getting away with that shit?
Being entirely clear. It's the actual letters. Some right wing guys tried saying that he wasn't trying to pass the letters off as real and the left was just freaking out over labels. Then this.
you are living the days when asking such a question is still allowed. If Trump stays in power, it will likely be illegal in a couple years in some guise of "insulting the president of the USA"
