How does this thing not get ripped apart every time it enters an atmosphere?!
Yeah, it's really not meant to enter the atmosphere when hauling, it would be cool if there was some stress mechanic where it breaks apart if you get too close to a large planet with a lot of atmosphere.
That being said, if there's no cargo it can retract the spindles and then it can land, no problem.
