Health bars and power ups: The 'freaky and unpleasant' world when video games leak into the physical realm

Sure, it's not just people spending a bit too much time in addictive games. No, it's a whole new phenomenon that requires research and possibly treatment! What a bunch of nonsense.

I was perfectly willing to believe a fraction of a percent of people could get their world properly mixed up, but once i got half way down and they were talking about memory and emotions in games like it was some mind blowing thing i stopped taking this seriously. I'm certain they've deliberately worded everything to be as spooky as possible to boomers.
