Congress, especially the Senate, is turning into a fucking nursing home. McConnel should do the right thing and retire now, because it's obvious that he is not capable of actually performing his duties and is therefore letting down his constituents. I have this crazy suspicion that he won't, though.

The reality is that time in office is used to determine seniority on committees. Both parties are “propping up the ancients” in a grotesque game of chicken.

I think she was trying to play it off like McConnell was just hard of hearing and the reporter wasn’t being loud enough and that’s why McConnell wasn’t answering. It wasn’t a good bluff though seeing as McConnell hadn’t said anything intelligible in like 20 seconds.

When he froze he was asked by a reporter whether he was going to run again in the next election in 3 years.
That stroke had great comedic timing!
