President Donald Trump downplayed the Signal chat leak Wednesday as a "witch hunt" and said, without evidence, that the encrypted messaging app "could be defective" as his administration struggles to stem the fallout.

The whole point was that you shouldn't use signal for this stuff to begin with. It being 'defective' makes it worse, not better.
Right? Oh never mind, it's ok guys... the app that they were (illegally) using to discuss extremely sensitive topics was only defective.
