Even his own allies don't really like him, this situation is like some kind of delirious stage farce with an antagonist who has no redeeming qualities. If shit hits the fan, he'll have already insulted or impugned every single person to whom he might have called on for aid, and they'll all want to out-maneuver him instead for all of the indignities and insults he's doled out.
