I’m very serious when I say this: France should make this a core part of their foreign relations strategy with the US for as long as orangeboi keeps talking and perhaps planning to try to take over Greenland and Canada. It’s both hilarious and deeply appropriate.
What's even funnier is that the MEP in question was (probably falsely) accused of being paid by the CIA to be a pro-american mole in the French Left last year
I don't know the story, but if I were a CIA plant I'd do something similar. It's loud and obnoxious, but it's just a gesture and it wouldn't actually hurt my bosses.
The oxidation is what's keeping it together, if you clean the oxide off and don't seal it then it oxidizes again and takes material with it. It's similar as to why stainless lasts so long.
Wait 4 years. Be patient. He barely won and he mostly won due to people not voting.
Edit
Many people are under the influence that you shouldn't act while you wait. I see why it looks like that's what I am saying, but it is not. You must act. And believe in yourself that you can make a difference. You have to act and not be passive. BUT France does NOT need to pick silly battles with America over a statue. Focus on the right issue at hand
It's wild to have any faith that they'll give up any power. Even on the actual slim chance that Trump leaves the white house peacefully if anyone they deem not the right candidate they'll just claim the election was rigged. This is just how it is now.
It'll be a battle. But a battle for the American people, not the French. In the meantime, there are things to do to empower Europe's defense, not to pick fights over the statue of liberty with America. You must have faith in yourself, in the people that what we do will make a difference
I expect in those 4 years, irreparable damage will have been done to Americas reputation and social security structure. Minds will have been propaganda'd into accepting their new reality.
That is even if elections take place in 4 years. I totally expect a Putin style reign with the 2 term limit abolished or just plain ignored.
It is more than just Trump. The US is a democracy and thus any government is a result of the will of the people.
Europe doesn't trust Trump yes, but neither the population of the US who voted him to office.
The rest didn't vote or voted for something else. More people didn't actually vote for him than those who did.
USA is not a democracy. For a democracy peoples votes count, not the electoral votes. Did you know a person can become president with only 27% of the votes?
The American people are waking up and it will be their fight. In the meantime Europe has their OWN issues. This is not the time to bicker over silly things.
So they see an authoritarian rushing towards fascism in opposition of the will of the voters to protect capitalists from rising leftism, and decided the Statue of Liberty would be more at home with an authoritarian rushing towards fascism in opposition of the will of the voters to protect capitalists from rising leftism… but in Europe!
