Star Wars is one of the most recognizable brands in the world, and there are legions of fans who have watched all of the movies many times over the years. That said, there is one version of the original Star Wars: A New Hope that has been much harder to watch, especially on streaming. That […]
I mean isn’t it a sideloaded app that plays pirated content? I 100% support that but the title is a bit misleading based on the colloquial meaning of “streaming”
It was stupid to try and paint Han as the good guy just defending himself. Of course he shot first, he'd be dead otherwise. That was clear from Greedo's line before. To edit Greedo missing...is just dumb.
Honestly, even as a kid, it just underlined that this is a guy who exists in a dangerous world, a wretched hive of scum and villainy, if you will. He's coded as friendlier than the average Mos Eisley denizen, and he didn't shoot until he was threatened, but we are to infer the threat was serious. That Han still counts as "close enough" to a good guy just lets us know how dire Ben and Luke's situation is. It was a nice bit of show-don't-tell storytelling and the SE made it less so, in addition to being visual garbage.
There never was a theatrical version with a human Jabba. They shot footage with a human actor, but Jabba was always going to be an alien. Remember, they were makign a lot of stuff up as they were going along.
So George Lucas lied when he said the original theatrical cut would never be released again because the original print was modified in the process of making the special version.
Told you so, Lucas fan boys who said it was impossible!
This article is ridiculous. It just says the theatrical cut is available on a pirate app on roku. The theatrical cut has been available in various forms to pirates for years now. It does not even mention which version of the theatrical cut was put in the app so it could just be a crappy laser disc copy that released 30 years ago.
