Mine will just bite your toes, but apart from that they are pretty mellow. Although one does bite my wifes ankles when she (the cat) is hungry.

My second irrational fear is cats are quite literate and can read all this.
With cats, it seems more of a chaotic/reactive, but same results.
Note: if your knife begins plotting the demise of you or any other person, the best course of action is to assume your rightful place as an avatar of destruction.
