Thank you. I've seen way too much focus on a supposed salute than the actual work Trump has been doing. I'm half inclined to believe musk did it on purpose just to distract the left.
Since the head of the German right wing ultranationalist AfD told him that Hitler and the Nazis were communist (and who would know Hitler and the Nazis better than German ultranationalists) he probably just wanted to use a communist gesture to thank all the tankies enabling his endorsed candidate to win. /s
To be clear Germany has no defined "nazi region". There are federal states where the extremists/nazis have more votes and therefore seats in the respective parliaments. So far they rule none though. And yes it's disgusting that they haven't been prohibited, banned or otherwise eliminated from the democratic system, which they clearly try to undermine and hollow out.
it's alluding to claims (and legal protection) of authenticity in food and drinks, like when they say it's only champagne when it comes from the champagne region in france, otherwise it's sparkling water (except california champagne circumvented this but whatever).
They never needed that idiot for that, people can argue amongst themselves quite well.
Fashists will do fashist things it's up to the people to not let them actually get the power they want. For now I'd consider Germany's voters and parties to be capable of doing that. We'll see how the elections go.
It was actually officially called "Deutscher Gruß" - "German Salut". Nowadays it's called "Hitlergruß" - "Hitler salute". Don't know if it was also called that back then.
