Social media was so much better when it was posts by people I follow in reverse chronological order.
But the engagement numbers must always increase so they made an algorithm.
That’s basically what Reddit was and now Lemmy is. It’s the best model and I don’t see any reason why Lemmy can’t be the forever home for people who prefer this reverse chronological feed style!
Bluesky is the same, i essentially only use the "latest from follows" tab, which is just posts from people you follow in chronological order. So much better than whatever garbage the big ones tried to feed me until i quit.
