The headline makes it seem like it's just gamers but it's more about the overall gender divide in South Korea. It's a very interesting read. Men in South Korea feel like they're struggling to get by and women wanting fairer treatment is being seen as wanting to make things even more difficult for men. It seems like it's heading towards a tipping point.
Dudes doing this shit just ooze little dick energy... If you get so damned pissy about anyone pinching their fingers together, go jerk off to your podcasts and leave human beings alone.
Perhaps he's objecting to having the alleged hand gesture referred to as feminist. A bit of a quibble, but not completely baseless.
Then again it may not be fair to claim that whenever feminists do hurtful things in the name of feminism, that it's not real feminism. Feminism can do bad things too. Any philosophy can.
The point isn't that someone has a tiny dick. The point is that someone is trying to overcompensate their toxic masculinity to account for it. Its like when someone speeds in a huge car in the middle of the city centre.
Well fair, but using toxic stereotypes, even ironically, doesn't seem to be the way to dismantle that stereotype. It's like if a woman made fun of a man for liking pegging, and I call her a whore. No one should value a person based on their genitals or how many people they sleep with.
Yeah, the response is absolutely unacceptable, I'm just commenting on the article using the term feminist incorrectly. Feminism is not about being derogatory against people with penises.
I just looked a bit more into this. There is a whole history of scrutinizing Nexon's material and then screen capping single frames of animation to "prove" they are sneaking in this "misandrist" hand gesture. Looking at a back log of these this is on the level of those people presenting a single frame of someone like Beyonce on stage, and claiming what they captured clearly shows she is making satanic hand gestures.
These guys know they don't have to interact with shit they don't like right? If a game has something you don't like not only do you not have to play the game, but nobody is going to force you to do it. It's not like they were gonna play it anyway.
The best part about this particular situation is the graph you can draw that shows an inverse correlation between their rage and their junk volume.
Nothing more disarming than "wow! You sure seem personally impacted by that allegation, is that a reaction that's happening often from lovers, friends or very close family members?"
Korean anti-feminists are militant about this gesture.
I played a game last year and the same thing happened on that game too. Absolutely ridiculous stretch but the developer had to put out an apology (it was a Korean game)
Yea they did maple 2 and it flopped so they kinda fell back on the first and did a bunch of reboot and power level stuff to draw back the old v62 v83 crowd
I'm not going to call Korea is a cesspool, but things do seem more desperate there. They're deep in late stage capitalism(I'm not endorsing NK btw), but still haven't been disillusioned by the promise and are looking to blame anything else. Somethings not right when Samsung Group accounts for around 22 percent of the GDP.
