I fully believed women were inferior to men in intellect and less deserving of many things because that's what I grew up hearing at home, from my father, to his 2 daughters. I still feel undeserving of my job. I can't wait for him to die painfully so the conservatives lose a vote. There's no fixing him, and now his son parrots the same talking points. He has never worked a job in his life, yet moans about immigrants in the country.

Really? We have prisoners fighting the fires, and arguably they are a very diverse group of minority and white people, more likely a lot of minorities thanks to our legal system and poverty. Perhaps we should make sure this diverse group avoids republican voter’s property so they won’t be offended? They can wait for the all-white fire crews to get to them. Eventually. Maybe. If there are any all-white crews.

Already seen some of this shit being thrown weekend here on Lemmy (and heavily downvoted, thankfully). Idiocy that the reason for the fire damage was because the fire chief was a lesbian.
Last I checked, sexual orientation doesn't impact organizational skills, expertise, out knowledge. And I doubt she got to that position purely out of sympathy/political correctness, despite what the bigots claim.

I think I am going to stop using the term MAGA and just call them what they are idiots. So the title will read for me, “Idiots are Blaming DEI for the California Wildfires“
DEI is the reason the mayor took millions from the fire department and gave it to the police department while letting private fire fighting companies use the public fire hydrant system.
To fight DEI, we need to defund the police and ban private fire fighting.
Blaming this on that is something a terrorist does.
Maybe it will happen in some red state too in the future, to prove them wrong.

So many people were parroting the lie that somehow the Greens with no majority in government sneakily introduced "green tape" that prevented the firefighters from their usual hazard reduction burns. In reality, firefighters were prevented from doing hazard reduction burns due to the increasingly small window to safely do so due to climate change. The situation was so frustrating that the Rural Fire Service had to specifically address all the "bUt whAt aBouT HaZarD REduCtiOn bUrNs" during a press conference
