Counterpoint: plots where various factions just attack each other and never consider cooperation or consequences are boring and badly written.

Simple isn't the same as bad. The original trilogy is a basic save the princess story with good characters. But it's still a good series that many people enjoy. Star wars was never about Jedi vs Sith, but always about the characters and their journey

War is happening
Mechanicus finds a thing
Some say not to use the thing
Mechanicus uses the thing
Thing was a warp portal maker
Sometimes it can be about the little grot that could
But if its a game it either has to be a war sim or about the Ultramarines. Except for that one time it was also about the Mechanicus using a warp worserner.
